Job Requirements/Description

The Engineering Design Team is seeking an Engineering Technician Level 1 (BG7 - £24,702 to £25,979) to join our team.

What will I be doing?

Most of your day will be spent be assisting the team’s Land Surveyor undertaking topographic surveys. This will involve working out on site and carrying survey equipment. When not on site you will provide administration support to the Engineering Design team.

This will include preparing basic drawings using AutoCAD and providing technical support for projects for specifications, contract documents and the delivery of works on site.

As you further develop, you could have the opportunity to design and supervise your own small highway engineering projects.

What do I need to have?

You will be able to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues and contractors, both orally and in writing, and will have well-developed IT skills.

You will be able to work well in a team, manage priorities, work to deadlines and provide support for a range of technical engineering projects.

You will be working outside throughout the year.

There would also be an opportunity to develop your career through a day release to study for a BTEC Level 3 in Civil Engineering over 2 years and the potential to be professionally mentored to become a Technician Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (EngTech MICE).
