Pay Rate: £14.93 per hour

Hours: 42 hours per week

The Security Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing a team of Security Officers, ensuring the smooth operation of security measures on site. This role involves managing both proactive and reactive security measures, including daily routines, responses to safety threats, and acting as the Incident Controller until senior management or emergency services arrive. The Security Supervisor will support the Service Delivery Manager in ensuring a compliant, customer-focused operation that exceeds client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Security Response Team: Direct and guide the on-site security staff to ensure consistent, high-level security standards are maintained.
  • Incident Controller: Act as the primary contact during security and safety events until emergency services or higher management assume control.
  • Daily Operations: Oversee day-to-day security operations, ensuring key deliverables are met and service delivery remains high.
  • Team Collaboration: Coordinate effectively with Securitas colleagues across the site, ensuring all security tasks are delegated appropriately.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Ensure site emergencies are well-resourced, planned, and executed, managing the team's responses to incidents like medical or fire alarms.
  • Performance Monitoring: Ensure all team members meet standards in attendance, appearance, and behavior. Identify and address any non-compliance.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

  • Prevent Unauthorized Access: Safeguard the site by preventing and deterring unauthorized access.
  • Lead from the Front: Demonstrate excellent leadership by setting the standard for performance, professionalism, and customer service.
  • Monitor Security Systems: Operate and monitor fire alarms, intruder alarms, and CCTV systems.
  • Conduct Security Patrols: Perform internal and external security patrols to maintain safety and compliance.
  • Maintain Records: Ensure all logbooks and records are updated, and all paperwork is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Report Issues: Identify and report any faults, health and safety hazards, or unsafe working practices to management.
  • Team Development: Assist in managing the training matrix, promoting ongoing training and development within the security team.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Provide exceptional customer service, maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and presentation.
  • Continuous Improvement: Look for opportunities to enhance current security practices and processes.
  • Emergency Response: Lead the team in responding to on-site emergencies such as medical incidents or fire alarms.
  • Additional Duties: Undertake any other responsibilities as requested by management, including covering shifts due to short-notice absences.

Essential Skills

  • Right to work in the UK, 5-year checkable history.
  • Willing to undergo and achieve SC Clearance.
  • Full SIA Licence.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in managing a team of security professionals.
  • Knowledge of security protocols, including monitoring systems such as CCTV and fire alarms.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and respond effectively to emergencies.
  • Excellent organizational and record-keeping abilities.
  • Professional presentation and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
