Our UK agency is searching for a new collaborator as a Steelwork Engineer to support all activities performed by the team involved in HPC and SZC.


The position will be based in Bristol, in a permanent contract.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Producing steelwork platform designs compliant with the Eurocode3 and ETC-C and other relevant codes.
  • Liaising with the building layout and piping teams to coordinate the design.
  • Working with the CAD designers in the preparation of the design drawings/models.
  • Managing engineering changes in line with company procedures.
  • Resolving identified technical issues.
  • Receive, analyse and verify the consistency of the input data.
  • Produces the deliverables for which they are responsible (assumption notes, technical specifications, calculation notes).
  • Coordinate CAD Design.
  • Perform design activities for fastenings and anchorages in concrete.
  • Develop substantiation reports and complete surveillance of applicable technical documents.
  • Perform technical verifications of civil engineering documents for their building.
  • Create and maintain and be responsible for the Design Risk Register.
  • Responsible for anchorage design activities.


BACKGROUND AND SKILLS REQUIRED:


Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in civil engineering

Steelwork engineering design office experience, particularly in the design and detailing of industrial steel structures.

Experience in the nuclear sector would be advantageous.

Previous experience with the Eurocodes related to steelwork engineering

Knowledge of the design and detailing of steel structures

Knowledge and understanding of relevant Health and Safety regulations
