Job Requirements/Description

Stirling Dynamics is recruiting a Graduate Electronics Engineer to join in September 2025. 

Due to continued growth, Stirling Dynamics is recruiting an electronics engineering graduate to join our Software and Electronics Hardware capability and progress their career with us.

The graduate will have a permanent role within the Software and Electronic Hardware team and will be supported in their development through on the job training. The graduate will be assigned an experienced mentor who will be able to support their development and support them with their Chartership application to an Engineering Professional Body e.g. the IET.

The position will involve designing airborne electronics for hardware fitted to Electric and Vertical and Take-off and Landing Aircraft (EVTOL).

Candidates who are graduating in 2025 as well as those who graduated in 2023 and 2024 will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Producing electronics hardware designs to satisfy project requirements
  • Preparing design documentation, conducting design calculations and maintaining concise engineering records
  • Participating in reviews of their own work and of others
  • Contributing to new design and modification of existing products
  • Designing for and troubleshooting production and manufacturing processes
  • Following company processes and producing work products in compliance with the Aerospace Standards DO-254 and DO-160

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a 2:1 (achieved or on track for) in Electronic & Electrical Engineering or any closely related degree.

Essential skills

We are looking for candidates with a genuine interest in engineering, and an ability and openness to learn new technical skills. 

  • Proficiency in the full Microsoft office suite
  • The capability to act and work independently and as an effective and enthusiastic team member
  • Excellent oral, written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
  • You’ll need to be creative and curious, flexible, willing to learn and a real self-starter
  • You’ll need to be able to work hard, using your own initiative and be driven to make the most of the opportunity.

Technical Skills

  • Sound understanding of the fundamentals analogue circuit design
  • An understanding of power supply design e.g. SMPS

An understanding of 2 or more of the following is required:

  • PCB layout
  • Electronic design for electromechanical systems
  • Motor drive design
  • Power electronics
  • Sensors used in electromechanical systems

Desired skills

The ability to work closely with customers to make sure requirements are fully understood, and to demonstrate and explain project outputs.

Experience

  • Knowledge of circuit simulation
  • Hands-on experience with standard lab equipment e.g. Oscilloscopes
