FPG is recruiting for a Technical Support Engineer for an established telecommunications company that is expanding their operations team due to continued success and growth. This is an exciting opportunity if you are a Support Engineer with optical networking experience (OTN / DWDM / Ether / SDH / PDH) and if you have CCNA certifications or in the process of obtaining that would be a massive bonus. If you have the right experience, a defined career path is available with future options available.
Please note - 5 days per week in the office & lab in the Bristol region. Candidates that have not lived in the UK for the last 5 years or more will not be considered as you will not be eligible for Security Clearance.
Our client is an established telecommunications company that is expanding their operations team due to continued success in delivering telecommunications solutions and services to a wide variety of sectors – including Military, Government, Transport and Utility markets. This expansion presents an opportunity for 2 Technical Support Engineers to join, learn and grow within an expanding business.
Please note - the preferred candidate will hold an HNC (or higher) in telecommunications or a related field and be eligible for UKSC & NPPV3 clearances (5 years of continuous residence in the UK and have not left the country for more than 6 weeks at a time during this period). Flexibility to travel for fieldwork when necessary is also required.
Experience we’re looking for:
The company specialises in a broad range of advanced networking technologies, including PDH, SDH, Ethernet/IP, MPLS, Optical solutions, DWDM, Cellular and Wireless networks, and LTE-based systems. We also provide and manage SNMP-based network management systems across Linux, Solaris, and Windows platforms. We are seeking a candidate with a fundamental understanding of these technologies and expertise in at least one key technical area.
We are looking for a motivated and diligent individual who is eager to learn and stay updated with the latest developments in telecommunications as the industry continues to evolve. The ideal candidate will align with our company’s strong reputation for integrity and technical excellence. This role requires someone who can effectively apply their knowledge both in-house and on-site with customers.
As part of our commitment to our customers, we provide 24/7 support, so the ability to participate in an out-of-hours support rota is essential. This includes phone and email support, as well as occasional on-site customer visits.
