Cloud Infrastructure Analyst  

Salary: Circa £50,000 

Location: Bristol only 

Join the new data and analytics platform fin ops team, helping us to improve the effectiveness, cost efficiency and sustainability of Aviva’s AWS infrastructure through the identification and delivery of cost, energy consumptions, and simplification initiatives.

This role would suit someone with extensive AWS knowledge who is passionate about cost reduction and helping Aviva reach its Net Zero goals.

A bit about the job:

  • Conduct continuous, detailed analysis of AWS cloud infrastructure, including business usage trends, utilising tools such as AWS console, datadog and cloudability.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce cost, energy consumptions, and complexity. Translating that analysis into recommendations and driving the resultant backlog of work.
  • Produce reports on progress and success of initiatives, including identifying opportunities, risks and blockers and evidence of achieved benefits.
  • Work with business stakeholders to improve usage of AWS infrastructure, saving time, money, and energy consumptions, taking into account business requirements, and ensuring that initiatives do not adversely impact internal business processes or customer experience.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Extensive knowledge of AWS cloud infrastructure and standards, including experience of working in a mature AWS cloud environment; AWS Cloud certification would be preferable.
  • Ability to summarise technical information appropriately for different audiences, including senior management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with technical teams and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong IT background and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.

  • Salary Circa £50,000 (location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
