Working Pattern: Our work style is hybrid, and the role will require the successful candidate to be spending at least two days per week, or a minimum of 40% of their time in the Bristol hub.
You'll support with the capture and documentation of Metadata (data about data), building Data Lineage (a map of how our data flows from source systems through into our reporting and processes), building and running Data Quality Rules (logical rules to check that our data is of the quality we would expect) and supporting our diverse group of partners across Finance and the wider organisation, all to ensure compliance to Group Data Policy and external regulations.

The role/team
We'd love you to come and join us here in the Metadata & Compliance team – a part of our Finance Data Centre of Excellence. Our team represents a core component of Data Management for Finance, alongside Data Governance, Data Risk, Data Quality and Data Culture. Our teams work very closely together and have lots of crossover, so the role will involve elements of all these things.
The role will involve engaging and collaborating with our diverse group of partners across Finance and the wider organisation, to understand our most important processes and data, to allow us to create effective documentation of our data and its attributes and building data flow diagrams. Understanding the flow of data in Finance helps us understand where our most important data comes from and how it is controlled, so that we can ensure the quality for our end customers.
You’ll work with many different teams across Finance and other areas, such as our Central Data & Analytics Office (CD&AO) and 2nd line Risk functions. You’ll help make FDAO a fantastic place to work! Data Management skills and experience are useful, but experience of the Finance Business Unit and / or general experience with using, managing and analysing data is also valuable. You may also have other data experience – maybe some coding at home, or opportunities where you’ve developed a tool or a visualised dashboard at work.
