Contract PCB Design Engineer

As a growing company, we are excited to announce that we are looking to expand our capabilities in electronic and electrical design. We are looking for a contract PCB designer who can work on a project basis (with the possibility of going permanent). Your job will be to work with the Chief Electrical Engineer and Software Engineer to develop innovative solutions to engineering challenges. The job is based in FutureSpace Bristol (UWE campus) with the flexibility to either work from home or to work in our office.

You will be involved in exciting Robotics and Motion control projects for example:

Mobile Robot Controller and Power Electronics design, Mobile Robot Module Design: power supplies, CANOpen Nodes, lighting/HMI modules.

Responsibilities

Requirements capture and management (Nice to Have)

PCBA schematic and layout design (Must)

Electrical wiring harness design + cabinet schematic design (Nice to Have)

Organize for manufacture of prototype and production PCBs (Must)

Create manufacturing documentation (Must)

Test and Verification of Designs (Must)

Experience with the following Design Tools is preferred:

EasyPC, Pulsonix, DesignSpark

Altium

5 years minimum experience in PCB Design

EasyPC licence can be provided. If the contractor has their own Altium Licence then this would be a major advantage.

Topics of Focus

DCDC converts, power electronics, CAN Ethercat/Ethernet. STM32, ADCs, sensors, actuators, motors, high power / current density design, PCB DFM, library management, analog, digital design, communication procols, EMC/EMI, LVD, CE.
