We are looking for an experienced Software Safety Assurance professional with a strong foundation in UK defence and track record of technical Safety programme delivery. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to join a company that already has an excellent reputation for Safety Engineering solutions delivery.


The successful candidate will lead the Software Safety Assurance capability and have the opportunity to develop and grow the Software Safety Assurance Team. This is an integral role in helping to shape a flourishing company.


The Role:

Day to day, you will work with clients providing specialist Software Safety consultancy services and support business development activities. You will be responsible for developing our early careers team members’ skills and growing the Company’s programmable elements assurance capability.

You can work from our offices, client sites or from home.

To best support some of the clients, we sometimes need to travel; we take a flexible approach to meet both our staff and clients’ needs and use common sense.


Responsibilities:

  • Conducting Safety Assessments throughout the full lifecycle on software or programmable element safety systems.
  • Develop Functional Safety strategies across multiple industries and applications.
  • Coach / mentor junior members of staff.
  • Technical leadership on projects, assist tenders and quotations.
  • Taking active steps to ensure customer satisfaction and actively aim for repeat business.
  • Support recruitment, training and mentoring.
  • Leadership of business winning activities, account management and growth.
  • Supporting the definition and achievement of business objectives.
  • Exploring prospects for alliances and partnerships to exploit new opportunities.


Experience:

  • Experience and knowledge of applying the following safety standards: IEC 61508, 62061, 61511, Def STAN 00-055, ARP 4754A, DO-178C or DO-254.
  • Experience of working with systems and software engineering processes, techniques or languages.
  • Experience within one or more of the following defence domains: Air / Land / Sea / Ordnance, Munitions and Explosives / Nuclear.
  • Previous consultancy experience.
