About the role

As part of the growth of our Digital Platforms division, we are scaling up our network capabilities within our Corporate IT department. We are therefore looking for a Network and Security Engineer with a proven track record in delivering enterprise technical services, who enjoys working with a variety of technologies and people and wishes to further their career by helping us achieve Hargreaves Lansdown's mission.

What you'll be doing

  • Work collaboratively to deliver a best-in-class service within a high performing Networks service team
  • Seek innovative solutions, improvements, enhancements, and automation wherever possible
  • Responsible for recording and managing all changes in line with ITIL best practice
  • Technical support for Major Incident events, ensuring RCA is completed for the network function
  • Infrastructure security, ensuring the network systems estate remains security compliant
  • Maintaining and operating network monitoring platforms such as SolarWinds and Nagios/Opsview
  • Occasional out of hours work for updates, incidents and fixes is expected

About you

  • Experience providing LAN/WAN support and project services within an enterprise environment
  • Corporate Wireless infrastructure management
  • Managing workload within an ITSM solution, ensuring SLA adherence
  • Excellent communication skills and customer focus
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and complete your own work
  • Willingness to engage with and work in other technologies
  • Ability to work, and be resilient, in a fast paced and changeable environment.
  • CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent professional certification
  • Understanding and/or working knowledge of ITIL v4

Experience in any of the following would be highly desirable:

  • Zscaler zero-trust platforms
  • Azure VNet
  • Wireless networks
  • Firewalls
  • Vulnerability patching
  • Automation and scripting

Interview process

This will be a two-stage interview process consisting of a technical and competency based interview.

Working Schedule

We are looking for a Network Engineer to join our team, based in Bristol head office, BS1 5HL. This role is permanent, full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We have returned to the office, however for this role we offer a hybrid flexible working pattern to enable you the option of working from home and coming into the office.
