Merchandise Assistant (Student Staff)

We’re looking for students with proficient experience in retail, and passion to provide an outstanding customer service. You will be responsible for helping customers and driving sales at our key events i.e. Welcome Week and Graduation. From time to time, you may be asked to work in The Basket, our merchandise outlet, help with preparing and posting online orders, processing deliveries and working in the stockroom.

What’s the job?

Hours: As required – zero hours contract

Salary: £12 per hour

Contract: Fixed Term until 31 October 2024 (it might be extended until summer 2025 for the right candidates)

What will you bring?

• You’ll have experience in retail, sales, customer service or hospitality.
• You’ll be able to provide an excellent customer service to our customers, and support our full time staff at key events, and in the shop.
• Essential skills: excellent verbal and written communication skills, good numerical skills, ability to organise your workplace, ability to work in very busy environment, attention to detail, punctuality and reliability.
• Desirable skills: a good eye for product display, working on your own initiative, good work ethics.
