The Children’s Workforce Development Team coordinate and provide a range of support and training to the Children’s social care workforce, which also includes supporting staff in a range of different roles, including our newly-qualified Social Workers, Social Work students and Apprentices. The Workforce Development Team also lead on Quality Assurance work across Children’s Services in Bristol, ensuring a focus on effective and consistent support and intervention with some of the most vulnerable children in Bristol, and enabling recommendations to be made about ideas and improvements to our service.

What will I be doing?

In this varied role, you will be involved in a range of different administrative tasks to support the Children’s Workforce Development Team, which will include managing training bookings for children’s services, organising training venues and communicating with the workforce about learning and development opportunities.

You will be involved in collating data and information to contribute to quality assurance work and will attend and minute staff forums and a range of other meetings relating to social work with children and families.

You will also have some involvement in managing financial tasks such as processing invoices and raising purchase orders, and liaising with training providers to ensure that children’s social care staff receive the most effective training to support them in their work with children and families.

What do I need for this role?

As Workforce Development Coordinator, you will need strong administrative and organisational skills, as well as the ability to communicate with a range of different audiences both verbally and in written format.

You will need to have a good level of IT literacy and will be competent in overseeing an electronic inbox and liaising with members of the team to be able to respond to a range of different training and administration queries.

Due to the highly confidential nature of some of the meetings you will be taking minutes for, you need to be trustworthy and able to maintain excellent data protection standards at all times, and you will need a level of emotional resilience due to the often sensitive information you will be exposed to in the role, although you will also be provided with excellent supervision and support.

If you’re looking for the chance to put your strong administrative skills to good use in a role that makes a difference, this could be the opportunity you have been looking for to join a small, friendly team where your skills will be valued.
