Business Development Executive

We are delighted to be recruiting for a Business Development Executive to join a global freight forwarding company with an office based in Bristol.

Within this competitive industry, there are no quick wins. You will need to nurture and grow strong relationships with your prospects, working together as a team to convert your pipeline and then hand over the accounts to be managed and grown by the excellent account management team. You will continue to earn commission on the clients as they grow but will work as a team.

A consultative approach and experience in the sales process are essential in this role. You will offer this by becoming an industry expert after being given in-depth & ongoing training and development.

Main responsibilities:

• Assess market trends and communicate these effectively
• Actively engage in closing large opportunities with the sales team
• Create and manage the sales budget
• Weekly sales meetings
• Manage CRM activity
• Drive performance to meet revenue expectations
• Monthly pipeline reviews with each sales executive
• Review all bids that are to be submitted to a customer on behalf of your district
• Joint sales visits
• Weekly coaching sessions
• Quarterly performance reviews

Person Specification:

• Strong written and communication skills
• Strong presentation skills
• Minimum of 2 years of consultative sales experience
• Driving license
• Contract negotiation experience
• Be structured and organised
• Be proficient in MS Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Teamwork mindset

My client has an exceptional development program and works with their employees to ensure they develop long and rewarding careers. You will be offered excellent training & support and will be part of a close-knit team.

The basic salary for this position will be up to £40k with an uncapped OTE and a car allowance. During the first 18 months, you can expect to earn an additional £12k - £15k in commission within year 1-2 and then continue to grow on this YOY.

My client is based in Bristol and when not meeting clients will be expected to be in the branch. You do get a number of WFH days to use but this is not a remote position.
