Duration: 6 month contract

Rate: 68ph UMB (Inside IR35)

Role:
Our client, a prominent player in the Defence and Security sector, is currently seeking a Software Product Support Engineer to join their team in Bristol. This role is a 6-month contract, requiring the individual to work fully onsite, contributing to advanced defence system projects.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the deployment and maintenance of in-service middleware solutions
  • Investigating and resolving software issues swiftly and efficiently
  • Debugging complex software systems, collaborating with a team to find solutions
  • Configuring and maintaining Linux Operating Systems, ensuring security solutions are up to date
  • Providing technical support across land and maritime projects, contributing to some of the most advanced missile systems worldwide
  • Ensuring clear communication of technical matters to non-technical stakeholders


Job Requirements:

  • Proficiency in C or C++, JavaScript, and shell scripting languages
  • Extensive experience with Linux OSs (Redhat and/or Ubuntu), including kernel configuration and testing
  • Strong background in software engineering, with a passion for innovation and problem-solving
  • Clear and effective communication skills, particularly in conveying technical details to non-technical audiences
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment to resolve technical issues
