Software Release Engineer

We are working with a global leading software hardware development group who are looking to add experts in Software release management and automation to a growing team in Bristol. This role will see you work on firmware releases for the company's upcoming data center projects. This is a permanent role that will be based out of the Bristol office, with 2 days a week required for on-site work. We are hiring various different levels of seniorities for this team so both Junior and more Senior profiles are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities for this Software Release Engineer role:

• Working on release engineering and management for new production firmware releases
• In a position to provide tested releases of production quality downstream firmware for the company's partners
• Help develop release plans and strategies in collaboration with stakeholders and customers
• Ownership and management of the release process and software version control
• Work to develop CI pipelines for future firmware release processes

Required Skills for this Software Release Engineer role:

• Proven background working on software release management and automation
• Experience working on low level, embedded or firmware software releases a plus
• Experience in software building and build management – for official downstream software release candidates and formal releases
• Python and Bash skills
• Experience working on server based software releases a plus
• Familiarity with open-source projects such as Linux Kernel, TF-A, EDK II and OpenBMC is a plus
