  • The post holder ensure that supporting the management teams with team administration where required, to be able to work with the hospital systems including CareFlow and Bristol Cancer Register.
Job Requirements/Description

Contract: Fixed term: 12 months (We hope the post holder will start around the 18th of November 2024, for 12 months)

Hours: Part time - 22.5 hours per week (22.5 hours between Monday-Friday)

To support the Bristol cancer support workers & the wider personalised care & support service administratively. 

The role includes the management of the administration relating to our patient health and wellbeing events, and supporting Bristol’s management team with line management administration, meeting minutes, data collection and any other required administration including letters to patients & ordering of patient information.

Main duties of the job

  • To act as point of contact for the cancer support workers and assisting them with the day-to-day management of their workload.
  • To be able to work with the hospital systems including CareFlow and Bristol Cancer Register.
  • Be responsible for the collection of data from support worker activities including patient contacts & holistic needs assessments. Presenting this information in format that all teams can view.
  • Being the administrative contact for health and wellbeing events for patients, managing invitations and room bookings.
  • Supporting the management teams with team administration where required.
  • Take minutes for any appropriate meetings.
  • If and when appropriate and directed, order and/or receipt stationary and essential items, in line with Trust policies.
  • Escalate patient/staff queries, capacity problems and general issues to line manager or relevant staff as appropriate.
  • Ensuring speciality specific documentation is completed and filed appropriately.
  • To carry out associated clerical duties, for example maintaining accurate filing systems, receiving post, diary management and scanning patient notes if required.
  • Attend appropriate meetings as required by line manager.
  • Occasional travel required to other hospital locations & community organisations.

Knowledge & Experience

Essential criteria

  • Clerical or administrative experience.
  • Experience of communicating with people via telephone & email.

Desirable criteria

  • Previous experience in a healthcare of public setting.
  • Understanding of medical terminology.
