KURY UK Ltd is part of an international company, Kury Groupe, 100% dedicated to the nuclear field with 23 years of experience in nuclear engineering.

Since then, we have been working with EDF (French Electricity Producer). We are involved in several nuclear projects, including FA3 EPR (France), the French fleet, Taishan EPR (China), Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C.

We are now looking for engineers to join our Team in the UK. Our human-sized structure (100 employees worldwide) allows us to devote ourselves to mentoring and training our engineers. We take a special care of our employees’ development by ensuring them quality projects through which they will increase their skills.

Our Kury values: Curiosity, Trust, Rigor, Teamwork

Our team is international, our engineers are coming from different countries as we are looking for the best talents!

SUITABLE CANDIDATE

You enjoy analising concrete problems, finding solutions and then setting them up.

Getting involved in significant industrial and engineering projects involving very demanding precautions as regards industrial safety captivates you.

Your good analytical skills, sense of logic, aptitude for synthesizing and your scientific knowledge will allow you to adapt quickly to multi-system environments.

You have the ability to adapt to new technical problems. You know how to manage a small-sized team.

You like the idea of working on Projects and Quality matters to you.

You are a good team player.

THE ROLE

As Fluid System Engineer, you will be responsible for performing the necessary engineering analysis, including supporting calculations, for a specific system(s) in order to produce the system documentation required for the project. You will act as the central point of contact for the system(s) and will be in charge of the following activities:

In terms of System design and system integration, you will:

  • Produce, review and update the system documentation for the mechanical and thermo-hydraulic design, electrical, operator instructions, human-machine interface, safety and environmental, control logic design, as well as periodic testing in compliance with the engineering rules, methodologies, quality processes, and tools.

Particularly for Instrumentation and Control, performing the analysis for defining the Instrumentation and Control (I&C) Functional Requirements of the system and production of the I&C logic:

  • Writing of the Instrumentation and Control Functional Requirements,
  • Writing of Detailed Functional Diagram,
  • Writing of the Functional Test Procedure specifications,
  • Analysis of the results of the Functional Tests Procedure,
  • Writing of I&C logic description,
  • Writing of alarms sheets, operating images, and operating modes.

Particularly for mechanical design:

  • Sizing of components (e.g. pumps, pipework, pressure relief valves, tanks...),
  • Perform thermal-hydraulic calculation and modelling with in-house or commercial tools,
  • Ensuring the 3D model is consistent with the intended system design,
  • Formulate equipment specification and provide the data in respective database or datasheet,
  • Support to procurement team in formulation of technical specification for contract documentation,
  • Support to procurement team in technical surveillance of supplier documentation.

  • Analyse and verification of input data, requirements, and lessons learnt from other stations.
  • Engage proactively with all stakeholders around the system to ensure the delivery of a product meeting the requirements set by all disciplines,
  • Contribute to topics around good practises, innovation, improvement of processes, and quality,
  • Participate in experience-sharing activities within the discipline.

You will manage the modifications related to the system which include:

  • Manage requests for modifications to system(s) issued by various external parties by producing specifications and following engineering cycle (I&C and/or mechanical design changes specifications),
  • Analyse and verification the applicability of these modifications and challenge them as appropriate (support design stability approach),
  • Develop technical solutions and present them to internal or external stakeholders / the client to help resolve technical issues (technico-economic optimisation approach),
  • Use the electronic Engineering Change Management tool.

You will support the System Coordinator for relevant building by:

  • Producing and updating component datasheets for handovers with detailed designers,
  • Producing and updating Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams with all relevant design changes for handovers with detailed designers,
  • Liaising with other stakeholders through participation at kick-off meetings, gate reviews etc relevant to the system.

During the first months, you can count on the KURY Team to assist you all along your projects.

This experience will give you the opportunity to move on to other projects in the medium term: you will tackle varied but complementary projects, studies and technical topics. Your understanding of the technical and environmental challenges will allow you to take on complex and critical transversal studies.
