Management Accountant

Your new company
A small but growing distribution business is looking for a Management Accountant to join the team on a permanent basis, supporting the business as they go through the next phase of growth.

Your new role
Reporting into the Financial Controller, they are looking for a qualified management accountant to join the team. This will include:

• Participate in the planning and execution of the annual statutory audit.
• Calculate and report Company VAT on a quarterly basis.
• Improve processes and financial controls to enhance efficiency.
• Provide support and assistance to the wider finance team.
• Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and Depreciation Schedule.
• Ensure strong attention to detail to deliver "right first time" results.
• Manage cash-flows and produce regular cash flow updates.
• Complete month-end processes for the preparation of management accounts and reports for the board, including analysis and commentary on variances in budget and forecasts.
• Lead accounts payable and receivable processing, ensuring accurate, timely, and appropriate transaction processing while maintaining good relationships with customers and suppliers.
• Assist the Finance Manager in the preparation of annual budgets and monthly monitoring with rolling updates to forecasts.

What you'll need to succeed
We are looking for a qualified accountant, with strong month-end accounts preparation, planning along with budgeting and forecasting. Additionally, you will have experience producing insightful commentary and business analysis. Advanced Excel is also required, and would be advantageous if you have experience of using Microsoft D365.
