Part-Time Laboratory Technician

Salary: £11.44 per hour

Hours: 16 hours per week Saturday to Sunday, between the hours of 9:30-18:00 pm

Job Description

We are looking for part-time Laboratory Technician to support our team over the weekend in the day to day running of the business. The Lab Technician will assist in Media preparation, making bacterial growth media for use within the laboratory via aseptic technique procedure. This will include autoclaving media and plating agar, as well as quality control checks and maintaining the cleanliness of the lab. The technician will work in cooperation with the rest of our laboratory team.

Key Responsibilities for the role

• No aspects of this role require any scientific qualification or experience, this is a post for those who like to be busy with their hands and full training is given.
• Preparing bacterial growth media using autoclaves and hotplates for use within the lab.
• Working within a small team to meet deadlines and ensure adequate stock levels of media and consumables are upheld in the Lab.
• Maintain cleanliness and sterility of equipment along with general cleaning duties.
