The Opportunity:

Blackmagic Design are actively searching for several FPGA Engineers and Electronics Engineers to join our team in Bristol. Currently, we are looking to hire graduate engineers and junior engineers with a few years of industry experience.

As a Junior FPGA Engineer you'll have the opportunity to contribute to the development of cutting-edge video technology. You will get to work on designing, implementing, and optimising FPGA-based solutions to support various video processing tasks.

You will work along side our already established engineering team, here in Bristol and you will contribute to the development of state-of-the-art video processing algorithms and architectures to meet the demands of our customers in the rapidly evolving video industry.

Key Responsibilities Include:

-Implementing FPGA-based solutions for video encoding, decoding, transcoding, and streaming.

-Optimising FPGA designs for performance, power efficiency, and real-time processing requirements.

-Working on Interface FPGAs with video input/output interfaces (e.g., HDMI, DisplayPort, SDI) and integrate with video processing pipelines.

What we are looking for:

-Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

-1 year or more of experience in FPGA Design using Verilog or VHDL, with hands-on experience using FPGA development tools (e.g., Xilinx Vivado, Intel Quartus).

-Firmware design experience.

-Familiarity with image processing techniques and tools (e.g., OpenCV) is a plus.

-Software scripting experience would be nice to have but not essential.
