£75,000 - £105,000 plus Bonus and RSUs


This is an opportunity to join a successful and established company involved in enabling ground breaking technology innovations through the design of high speed Analog and Mixed Signal ICs for the optical communications market.


They currently seek a Principal Analog IC design engineer for their site located in Bristol, South West, England and in this role you will be a leading member of the design team involved in the design and layout of high performance Analog/Mixed Signal ICs and taking a technical lead role on significant chip developments.


Responsibilities:

  • The Principal Analogue Design Engineer is a leading member of the design team.
  • Takes the technical lead role on significant chip developments and makes key architectural decisions.
  • Delivers new and innovative solutions.
  • Works effectively with cross functional teams (marketing, sales, applications, product/test engineering).
  • Contributes to the technical direction and policies for the wider design team.
  • The principal engineer is an authority in their field and is expected to support, motivate and advise more junior engineers.
  • Able to prioritise and work across multiple projects in parallel to ensure key milestones are met.


Minimum Qualifications:

Essential:

  • 12+ years of relevant industry experience in Analog IC design.
  • Good BSc or equivalent degree in Electronic Engineering
  • Have fluent spoken and written English
  • Demonstrate a deep and intuitive understanding of CMOS analogue circuit design practise
  • Has taken the technical lead role on multiple chip developments
  • Track record of delivering revenue generating products to market
  • RF (1GHz +) analogue circuit design experience

Preferred:

  • Expert user of Cadence tools (IC6) and Calibre
  • Solid experience of circuit layout
  • Understanding of practises for assuring device reliability and high yield (DFM)
  • Can show extensive innovation in previous work (which has delivered customer solutions)
  • Device modelling experience (Verilog-AMS, SystemVerilog, etc)
  • Designed chips with Analog-Mixed-Signal subsystems
  • Has led a large project team, and provided technical direction to the design team

  • 25GHz + circuit design experience
  • Project leadership experience
  • Understanding of optoelectronic device physics and behaviour
  • Knowledge of optoelectronic communications – standards, applications, module specification
