We currently have an unique opportunity for a Water Efficiency Project Advisor to join our Water Resources team on a permanent basis in Exeter or Bristol. You will receive a competitive salary of circa £36,500 plus an excellent benefits package. The role

As Water Efficiency Project Advisor, you will be responsible for delivering and coordinating others to deliver water efficiency initiatives. You'll play a role in finding ways to make these initiatives even better, always striving to improve water efficiency. Drawing on your knowledge of water management, conservation techniques, and project support, you'll come up with new ideas and solutions to save water.

You will use your experience in water management, conservation techniques, and project management to drive innovation, identify opportunities for improvement, and achieve measurable outcomes in water conservation efforts. 

What you'll be doing:

  • Assisting in the development and implementation of water efficiency strategies, goals, and objectives in line with Pennon Group sustainability goals and regulatory standards.
  • Supporting the planning, execution, and monitoring of water efficiency programs and projects aimed at reducing water consumption and promoting sustainable practices.
  • Conduct or support assessments to identify opportunities for water conservation and efficiency improvements across operations, facilities, and processes.
  • You will design water usage data capture improvements and oversight their delivery, working collaboratively with the Modelling Data and Systems team to ensure timely delivery.
  • You will collaborate with the MDS Team to scope and oversee the collection, analysis and evaluation of water usage data to track performance against established targets and identify areas for improvement.
  • Deliver in a manner that complies with regulatory requirements and reporting obligations, including maintaining accurate records and documentation as necessary.
  • Assisting in the development and management of budgets for water efficiency programs and projects, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and aligned with SWWBB priorities and financial objectives.
  • Coordinating and collaborating with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to support the successful implementation of water efficiency initiatives.
  • Assisting in evaluating opportunities to integrate new technologies or upgrades to existing systems to optimize water use and reduce waste.
  • Monitor industry best practices and UK policies related to water efficiency and water resources, providing support in staying informed on relevant developments.

What we are looking for:

  • Scientific/ Environmental/ Engineering related Degree.
  • Experience in water resources management, environmental conservation, sustainability, or a related field.
  • Experience in planning, implementing, and managing water efficiency initiatives, projects, or programs.
  • Understanding of water management principles, water conservation techniques, and sustainable practices.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • The ability to prioritise work in accordance with changing demands and manage multiple projects whilst taking ownership of tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and good communicator, both oral and written.
