Contractual hours: 37 hour

Full Time, Fixed Term until 1st April 2025

We're seeking a data protection professional to join the councils growing Information Governance Service.

This role will play a key part in providing information governance assurance for Bristol City Council.

You will be a point of contact for Data Protection advice to colleagues at all levels including; providing advice on sharing and disclosure of personal information, data breach recording and management, Freedom of Information requests, liaising with the Information Commissioner’s Office when necessary.

You will also contribute to the management of overall information assurance by assisting with the development of the information assurance framework, carrying out monitoring and auditing activities, and supporting other team members and colleagues.

We're looking for a candidate with:

Knowledge and experience of fulfilling duties associated with Data Protection legislation in a large multi-disciplinary organisation.

Ability to communicate at all levels, including experience of providing practical help, advice and guidance to staff and partners.

Experience of handling a large and varied workload, and able to work in an environment that is often under pressure of competing deadlines and priorities.

Experience of carrying out data breach investigations, and complaint handling and resolution is desired but not essential
