Casual post with variable hours

Post 5 – zero hours casual posts working 7 hour days at the Cycling Centre and 6 hour days in schools.

Weekday and Weekend working – Zero hour casual contracts to various ad hoc days to cover staff holidays, sickness and busy periods especially during the summer months and school holidays. We also have other days available – see other advertised vacancies.

Location: Based at Bristol Cycling Centre, Hengrove and in schools throughout Bristol.

We need enthusiastic and approachable people to join our friendly team working at Bristol Cycling Centre delivering cycling activities to people of all ages and abilities. 

We are looking for people who would like to teach cycling skills to a wide range of people of all ages and abilities to engage learners in different ways. You will need to be encouraging and energetic, with patience and good communication skills.

You’ll need to be a qualified full National Standard Cycle Instructor.

You would be delivering training to lots of different people of all ages and abilities using regular and inclusive cycles. Sessions include:

  • Helping people learn to ride
  • Helping people build cycle skills and confidence
  • Teaching Bikeability courses (levels 1, 2 and 3)
  • Assisting disabled people to cycle using inclusive and regular bikes
  • Games and skills coaching for groups of riders.

Bristol Cycling Centre at Hengrove gives people of all ages and abilities the chance to ride in a traffic-free environment. Watching people learning to ride or trying cycling for the first time never gets old and helping people to share the joy of riding is very rewarding. The centre is very popular especially at weekends and sessions are often fully booked.
